Reincarnated Royal

[Bussmann] created the first web sitcom, The Junkies and wrote the stunning true-life drama, The Worst Date Ever – which is a terrible-but-wonderful title for a book that I regularly recommend to everyone to read, no matter what, and saw her invited to speak at the Houses of Parliament after uncovering horrors of sex trafficking in Uganda.

Bussman, who has worked on South Park and Brass Eye, is co-writing the script with Naisola Grimwood, and said: “People don’t have words for what they are seeing on the news other than WTF, is Doctor Evil back? Spin-doctors can’t be bothered to hide anything anymore. There’s zero justice, so we thought we’d have some fun.”

One of the stars of the Borat sequel will be coming to Calgary in early 2021 to shoot a “punishing” satire called Reincarnated Royal.

The cameras are expected to roll in early 2021 for Reincarnated Royal. It will be filmed entirely inside a studio, which is a rarity for an Alberta-shot production. 

In the production [of Reincarnated Royal] Jones will act as an angel helper of God. Jones also shared: “It's going to be a really fun movie. I know the world thinks I have this angel thing in my bag, but it will be very challenging to play the role. I hope the Queen of England thinks I'm an angel, because I don't want to be eliminated".

But in an interview with Postmedia, Bussmann revealed the project’s somewhat strange journey to Calgary. Grimwood, Bussman and Calgary’s Abagail Vanmerlin met just over a year ago while studying at Ecole Philippe Gaulier, a theatre school in Paris, France. Gaulier is a renowned “master clown” whose students include Baron Cohen.

Filthy Pictures Inc. and One Third Of A Brain Ltd. are teaming up for the feature Reincarnated Royal, a satirical comedy targeting high profile personalities, including self-proclaimed teenage “mentors” and a certain top CEO. "People are really suffering right now and we want someone to be punished. Vigorously,” says Grimwood.
